with seven i got my first piano lesson from my father and with nine
i grabbed the music from all the classical composers he had in his big cupboard.
I was fascinated by this world of notes and all those composers, expressing their life-style
through their compositions. i loved to concentrate on practising piano for hours.
later i started playing french-horn, what i didnt like as much as piano.
however it was easier to earn money at the beginning.
during my studying in vienna, munich and hamburg,
i played in many orchestras, became member of the "wiener kammerorchester",
the "klangforum" (contemporary classical music) and the "sinfonieorkest maastricht",
where i played for six years.
until the age of 20 i was only into classical music, but then a collection of 25 lp s
about the history of jazz music brought me to improvising on my french-horn.
with "mollson, riphop & flake" (my jazz-rock band) and "essig jazz hirnlos" (jazzy trance)
i played in austria, netherlands, germany & england.
in this time i started writing my own compositions. it began with jazz-rock tunes
for my bands, followed by classical chambermusic, which i wrote for my colleagues
from the maastricht orchestra, and ended up in orchestra compositions
with soloinstruments, voice or soundtape.
i was lucky that i was always asked to write some extraordinary music,
for uncommon instruments like alphorn, streetorgan or sopraninorecorder
and for combining different music genres.
after a big identity crisis i left the orchestra and the french-horn,
moved to amsterdam, learned bassguitar and started playing bridge.
to earn money i worked as a biketaxidriver and sold mushrooms in a smart-shop.
now, after two years of only practising and living, i restart my musical life
as a bassguitarplayer, composer and arranger.
i want 2 create new music to bring people together,to let them dance and get in trance.
I want them to enjoy and think about life.
